Teaching to Write an Equation from Two Points Easily

  • Note the coordinates of both the points lying on the line as (x1, y1) and (x2, y2)
  • Apply the given formula: y - y1= {(y2- y1)/ (x2- x1)} (x - x1)
  • Simplify the given formula to write an equation in the form y = mx + b.

Two Point Formula = y - y1= {(y2- y1)/ (x2- x1)} (x - x1)
