This 6th grade math Geometry lesson plan aligns with the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics. Students will learn about the properties of 2-dimensional shapes, including triangles, quadrilaterals, and polygons. The lesson begins with an introduction to basic geometric vocabulary, such as vertices, edges, and angles. Students will then explore the properties of different shapes, including their sides and angles.

They will also learn how to calculate the area and perimeter of 2-dimensional shapes. The lesson includes interactive activities and opportunities for student collaboration, and assessments to ensure mastery of the concept. By the end of this lesson, students will have a solid foundation in geometry that they can build upon in future math classes.
