We can find the number of solutions in a system algebraically through various methods. Here, we will understand how to find the number of solutions in a system using the elimination method.


 

Step 1: You will be provided with two sets of linear equations. Arrange both the equations in the standard form i.e. Ax + By = C. 

Step 2: Add, subtract, multiply or divide the equations to eliminate one of the two variables.

Step 3: Solve the equation for the remaining variable.
