A point where the curve or line passes through the axis of the graph is referred to as intercept. When a point crosses the y-axis, it is known as y-intercept or vertical intercept. Likewise, when the point crosses x-axis, it is known as x-intercept or horizontal intercept. To find the y-intercept of the equation, let x be 0 and then solve for y. Similarly, to find the x-intercept of the equation, let y be 0 and then solve for x.
